[NNA] 말레이시아 국민차 프로톤, NEV 추가 투입 계획

말레이시아 국민차 제조사 프로톤 홀딩스는 자본제휴관계를 맺고 있는 중국 자동차 제조사 저장지리홀딩스(浙江吉利控股集団)와 새로운 ‘신 에너지 차(NEV)’ 투입을 계획하고 있다고 3일 밝혔다.
 
이에 앞서 텐쿠 자흐룰 텐쿠 아지즈 말레이시아 통상산업부 장관이 중국 방문 계기에 저장지리홀딩스 산하 고급전기차(EV) 브랜드 지커(ZEEKR·极氪)를 시찰함에 따라 동 계획을 공표했다. 지커는 2021년 설립됐다. 자흐룰 장관은 생산거점인 지커 인텔리전트 팩토리를 시찰, NEV 및 기술전략에 대해 프로톤, 지리와 협의를 가졌다.

Malaysia’s national carmaker, Proton Holdings, plans to introduce new new energy vehicles (NEVs) through a capital partnership with Chinese automaker, Geely Holding Group. The plan comes after Tennku Jauhal, Malaysia’s Minister of Trade and Industry, visited China and inspected Geely’s luxury EV brand, Zeekr. Proton is currently seeking opportunities to accelerate its business in line with the government’s policies on providing affordable NEVs and promoting local production.
