[NNA] 필리핀 중앙은행, 전자본인확인에 디지털 신분증 활용

필리핀 중앙은행은 3일, 정부가 국민에게 발행하는 디지털 신분증을 온라인 금융거래 시 전자본인확인(eKYC)에 활용한다는 방침을 밝혔다. 중앙은행 금융위원회가 금융권의 고객확인 관련규칙 개정안을 승인했다.
 
개정 대상에는 디지털 신분증을 사용한 전자본인확인 가이드라인도 포함됐다. 신가이드라인은 금융기관이 디지털 신분증을 이용해 전자적으로 본인확인 시 준수해야 하는 최저한의 조건을 제시하고 있다. 각 금융기관은 기존 전자본인확인 시스템을 1년 이내에 개정 가이드라인에 따라 변경해야 한다.

The Central Bank of the Philippines announced on the 3rd that it plans to use the government-issued digital ID for electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) in online financial transactions. The bank’s financial committee has approved a revision of regulations related to customer verification in the financial sector, which includes guidelines for using digital ID for electronic verification. Each financial institution will have to change its existing eKYC system according to the new guidelines within one year. Central Bank Governor Benjamin Diokno stated that eKYC is essential for a technology and digital transformation that reduces financial exclusion.
